Home Staging Resource Review

home staging resource website

Quick Summary:

Despite me yapping below about not liking the marketing puffery at the Home Staging Resource, the web design, or the use of stock images, the home staging course is actually hard to fault. Check it out below and see if it ticks all your boxes.

So many things rubbed me the wrong way when first visiting the Home Staging Resource. It all started with this image on their website below…

Firstly, it’s been a while since it was 2018, so it made me think the website (and perhaps the course content) hadn’t been updated in a while.

Secondly, the HomeStagingResource.com isn’t the most polished website I’ve seen in this industry.

I’m personally a marketer. I’ve spent over 10 years doing all things related to digital marketing, from SEO, to social media, to UX and web design. So when I see things like the course teaches how to “automated your PPC”, or “automate your Facebook Ads”, or to download and use social media templates, my eyes role a little. None of this is best practice, it’s worst practice.

One other thing that puts me off the Home Staging Resource website was the amount of hype on the website in terms of marketing. The owner is the “most award-winning“, the course is the “BEST Choice“, the trainer is the “most knowledgeable in the industry“, their “members Are Most Successful“, that “No Other Home Staging Training Can Compare to the Depth of Resources, Materials and Value We Provide to Our Students“, and that they are the “#1 MOST trafficked Staging Website on the Internet” (which isn’t true, using the tool they cite the data from. StagingDiva.com is significantly more visited, for example).

It reminds me a bit of Donald Trump making a speech, but let’s not go there.

In summary, this Home Staging Review has been a tough one to write. I’ve been torn! Stuck behind a rock and a hard place. One one hand, I think the design is dated, the marketing puffery off-putting, and the use of cheesy stock imagery (in their marketing sectioning) slightly unexpected. But on the other hand, the course content looks good. And at the end of the day, that is what really matters.

(Below is a screenshot of the 1990’s inspired clip-art and eBook mockup as seen on the Home Staging Resource sales page, under the heading about marketing…)

But putting all that to one side, they are the real deal. The Home Staging Resource was launched in 2006 by a professional home stager who has been-there, done-that. She’s been seen on CNN, Fox News, NBC News, The Boston Globe, and a few other well known publications.

Home Staging Resource is a RESA Accredited Training Provider, and has a A+ rating by the BBB.a
