1. How we choose which courses to review
We track the home staging certification market and review the programs people are actually searching for and considering: the well-known accredited courses, the premium video and community programs, the business-coaching programs that get mistaken for certifications, and the budget and free alternatives. If a course has meaningful search demand or shows up on shortlists, we want it on our list so readers can compare like for like.
2. How we gather evidence
Wherever access allows, we enrol in or trial a course and work through the experience first hand: the dashboard, the lessons, the assignments, the support, and the credential at the end. Where direct enrolment is not possible, we assess the course from the provider’s own published curriculum, sample lessons, pricing and refund terms, and accreditation records. We always make clear what a given review is based on, and we add first-hand screenshots to a review when we have them.
3. How we score
Every course is measured against the same published rubric, weighted toward what matters most to someone getting started. We do not give an editor’s-favourite bonus and there is no paid boost.
- Value for money (35%): What you pay against what you get, including hidden renewal and membership fees.
- Accreditation & recognition (25%): Whether it awards a credential clients and agents actually recognise.
- Course content & depth (20%): Whether it teaches both the staging craft and the business of staging.
- Speed & flexibility (10%): How fast you can finish around a job and start taking clients.
- Guarantee & support (10%): Refund window, lifetime access, and ongoing help.
The weights add up to 100. You can read the full breakdown on our methodology page.
4. How we handle pricing
Course prices move, and several providers run frequent promotions. We record the best public information at the time of writing, phrase prices as approximate, and stamp every review with the date its pricing was last verified. We always recommend confirming the current price on the provider’s own site before you enrol.
5. How we keep our reviews honest
We earn referral fees from some enrolment links, at no extra cost to you. Those fees never change a score or a rank, and no provider can pay for placement. The full detail is in our editorial policy.
6. How we keep reviews current
We re-check prices and course details on a regular cycle and whenever a provider announces a significant change to curriculum, accreditation, or pricing. Each review carries a published "last verified" date so you can see how fresh it is.
Who writes these reviews
We are a team that researches and compares home staging certification courses. We buy or trial the courses we can, score every program against the same published criteria, and update our reviews as prices and curricula change.
